Why did I wait? Whilst I was aware that Erle had been purchased by a third party and was now focussing on the development of robotic hardware and systems I had expected them to at least warn users of "historic" products that these would no longer be available and/or supported and not just in the forums. I spend a portion of the year in Europe and had been waiting until I returned before purchasing a power lead for the PXFmini to enable monitoring battery levels during flight. Why? Well as I live on the otherside of the World the cost of 'postage' doubles the price of the product whereas here in France the cost of delivery is much more reasonable. Imagine my surprise now I am back in Europe that the products are no longer available and there is no indication that any 'unsold' products actually exist.
This is typical of large companies and is a warning to others that selling out for the money doesn't actually win any friends or loyalty. From here the forum will undoubtedly wind down and become useless for users as many similar forums have in the past. Whilst the schematics are 'available' they are not that usable when trying to create an alternative particularly and the website continues to advertise "Get Your PXFmini in our store!", well all that link does it take you to the new Acutronic store which just shows robotic joints, arms and grippers. Come on now if you are going to discontinue the product at least take out the links to non-existant product. Maybe it is now time to move to Dronetrest or Ardupilot...
So anybody out there with an Erle power lead, spare or unwanted, for a PXFmini?
