We have the same problem as http://forum.erlerobotics.com/t/pi-zero-w-no-wireless-interfaces-found/2853 where we are unable to connect to the internet using the latest os for the raspberry pi zero w. We were following along however that post did not specify how they were able to fix the problem.
Here is a picture of our interfaces file, and we also have the wifi network name and password in /etc/wpa_supplicant/erle.conf
Thank you, Tom
but in your interfaces file, you're using wpa_supplicant.conf file. If you have created the config file with erle.conf name you need change the name.
Thanks LanderU, I tried this but it still does not work. I am getting no interfaces found still.
can you paste here the output of these commands?
the output looks promising
can you please put the output of ifconfig? Without -a flag.
The output looks well. Could you please share the content (hide the password etc)? Also, share the path of the file.
/etc/wpa_supplicant is our current path
try the following:
sudo service network-manager stop
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
Hi Lander, We are still unable to connect.
after these changes, what is the output of ifconfig?
I gonna test it in my Raspberry Pi Zero W, I soon is I can. I'll create a video that illustrate the process.
Ok great, thank you for your help!
Hi @LanderU ,Have you had any luck with your raspberry pi zero w connecting? Thanks, Tom
sorry I didn't have time to test it. I hope do it this weekend.

Hi @LanderU, I followed through the commands and still did not have any success. This is the results posted above. Thanks, Tom
