One quick note, I did notice that I never calibrated the compass. I ran the calibration and it worked fine, as far as I can tell. But I still cannot arm the drone, from the radio or Mission Planner. Nor can I detect any signal from the radio.
I looked into the log file, /home/erle/apm/info/copter.log. I didn't really see anything.
The beginning of the file contained hundreds of lines like this. I am assuming because I was messing with the network configurations before. /home/erle/apm.sh: line 29: /home/erle/ArduCopter.elf: No such file or directory.
The end of the file, however was unreadable, which I found weird. It did contain a few messages within the garbled output. One message I am getting when I try and arm the drone from Mission Planner: Arm: Mode not armable.
Yes, I had an issue with configuring the compass last time i was working on it. looking back into my notes I found this. I ran these commands on the pi:
sudo apt-get purge -y apm-copter-pxfmini
Install new version:
curl packages.erlerobotics.com/keys/deploy | sudo bash
sudo apt-get install apm-copter-pxfmini
I can see the parameters change real-time in Mission Planner. When I pick the drone up, the altitude changes. When I rotate it, the yaw changes. etc. etc... One thing it doesn't see is the battery voltage. that remain 0V, but I think that's a separate issue so I'll ignore that for now, unless you feel otherwise. FYI I removed the battery check from the preflight check so I knew it wouldn't interfere.
When I try and arm the drone via Mission Planner, I get the error: Arm: Mode not armable_, similar to what I saw in the log. I could not find any other details with the error.
I think this is going to be my next move. I have a spare micro sd card so I'm just going to load a new image on it and start from scratch. Do you suggest requesting a new image or should I use the same image and make sure the apm-copter-pxfmini package I install is up-to-date? If I do need a new image, what do I need to go through to request a new image? I am using this image currently, PXFmini-RasperryPiZeroW-29-04-2017.img.gz. I don't remember if that was the original name, but the date is accurate, April 29 2017.
