I am trying to calibrate my ESCs and get the motors spinning but have been unable to do so with wifi and gamepad. I have configured my controller in APM Mission Planner and am able to connect over UDP when associated with the AP created by the drone. I don't have any RC equipment and am attempting to do without it.
From the reading I have done in order to calibrate the ESCs you must have full throttle down to enter calibration mode then continue from there. In my setup I must wait until everything is done booting to connect. There doesn't appear to be a way to directly enter ESC calibration mode from there.
I have edited the ESC Calibration Param to automatically attempt to calibrate upon next reboot. The ESCs do the little song that says they're in calibration mode but once I connect I can't do anything. I have also tried powering the RasPi and PXFmini combo separately from the ESCs and motors. I would power on the autopilot first connect over wifi then hold the throttle to max on my wifi gamepad. After that I would power the ESCs hoping they would enter ESC calibration mode that way. But no such luck.
It may be an electrical issue. After a while of everything being powered the ESC starts to beep endlessly and I haven't been able to find what that means.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
