We have an Erle-Brain 2 rover that an intern used a few years ago for a project, and we are all new to this device.
I am trying to dust it off for a new project. Originally I couldn't get anything out of the HDMI after powering it up so I downloaded the Erle-Brain2-PXFmini-RaspberryPiZero-frambuesa-12-10-2016.img.gz firmware and re-flashed the SD card.
It booted up perfectly after this, so then I started working my way through the getting started guide. When I ran "rosnode list" I only had two devices turn up, and not the large list shown in the guide. I also could not get the rover to move using the remote control. I checked all the wiring was plugged into the Erlebrain like the guide shows.
So I decided to update the packages as it shows in the guide. I ran "apt update" and hit the GPG key error which I fixed following http://forum.erlerobotics.com/t/deploy-new-deb-server-key/3359 Afterwards I ran "apt upgrade" and the devices then downloaded 556MB of updates and updated 500 packages over 2 1/2 hours. When it completed I then ran "shutdown -r now".
The device did not start up afterwards. It is only showing a RGB rainbow screen which Google says is the symptom of the bootloader not being able to load the kernel on a Raspberry Pi.
Has anyone had this issue after updating the Erlebrain 2 software? Any ideas on what to try to fix it?
Otherwise it looks like I will need to solder up a USB to TTL UART Picoblade cable so I can get the output of the bootloader from the serial port.
