In my lab we are in the process of starting a new project where computer vision algorithms will be run on board of a drone. We identified Erle-Copter as a good solution as it is designed to work seamlessly with ROS. However, we need a more powerful processing system than the RPi 3 provided within the Erle-Brain 3.
I'm here to ask if a Erle-Copter setup like the one described below is feasible in terms of weight, power and flight stability. What I would to mount on the drone is the following:
- I am uncertain about what camera to choose to put on board. It needs to be 4K@30fps and I need to get the video stream from the USB.
- Landing legs
- 4S battery
Can the ODROID be connected via USB or Ethernet to the Erle-Brain 3? Would it be possible to power the ODROID with the 4S battery and would this need a power stabiliser?
