I've just been able to start testing my Hexacopter, controlling with the RC it throttles up and down just fine. I have not flown it yet, I would prefer to let the flight control do all the flying of this device.
My problem: When I execute the Mission start action, the initial 2 seconds everything sound fine and starts to rev up and take off, Then the motors go wild, max speed, half of them cut out after about 6 seconds, unable to disarm, I have to shutdown the brain to stop the motors or unplug the battery.
Very simple mission plan is loaded.
Mission plan - 0 - Home , 1- Takeoff, 2 loiters Time, 3 Land
Any idea what would cause such a behavior and how do I remedy it. The intended purpose of the hexacopter was to be controled by the APM 2, to run site surveys. I hope to find a solution.
Another problem is that the compass is only reading the internal one, and not external from the GPS, though both get reading when calibrated, I can not get the APM to respect the exteral compass. I don't think this is a major problem and currently I'm ok with using the on board compass.
If video is needed I can re run my test and record it, let me know if this is needed.
